• New gTLD Round: Every 2026 Application, Contention Set and ForecastOctober 7, 2026. Every application in the ICANN 2026 new gTLD round. See who applied for each string, the company behind each applicant, which strings are contested, and how many names we expect each new extension to hold.
• Two thirds of top AI apps have their .com. Only 22 use it as their main siteOctober 6, 2026. We checked the domains of the 50 consumer AI apps with the most observed U.S. consumer spending. For 33, the matching .com is their main site or forwards to it. Only 22 run their main site on .com; 18 run on .ai.
• The 2026 TLD boardAugust 3, 2026. The ICANN application window closed August 12. We ranked 200 candidate TLDs against 253 million registered names, then measured the first 341 applied-for strings against the same model.
