About RDAP Lookup
How do I check the age and registrar of many domains at once?
RDAP Lookup is a free bulk WHOIS alternative. Paste a list of domains to get each name’s registration date, expiration date, age, registrar, nameservers, DNSSEC, and status flags. It uses RDAP, the registry protocol that replaced WHOIS, and falls back to WHOIS for extensions without RDAP. Results export to CSV.
How to use it
- Paste domains, one per line.
- Complete the quick verification and run the lookup.
- Switch between cards and a sortable table. Dates are in UTC.
- Export the table to CSV.
Data and limits
- How it works
- Your browser queries major registries directly: Verisign, Identity Digital, Google, CentralNic, GoDaddy, PIR, and Nominet. Other extensions go through Toyroom’s server, which follows the IANA RDAP bootstrap and falls back to WHOIS.
- Limits
- Registries rate-limit RDAP. When one does, the row says so; wait and retry. For large DNS-only jobs, use DNS Scout.
- Privacy
- Direct lookups go from your browser to the registry, so the registry sees your IP address.
- Cost
- Free. No account.
Questions
What is the difference between RDAP and WHOIS?
RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the structured, JSON-based successor to WHOIS. Since January 2025, ICANN treats RDAP as the definitive source of registration data for generic extensions, and many registries have switched WHOIS off. RDAP returns consistent fields; WHOIS returns free-form text.
How do I check a domain’s age?
Enter the domain. RDAP Lookup reads the creation date from the registry and shows the age. Age counts from the current registration: a name that expired and was registered again starts over.
Why are owner details missing?
Most registries redact registrant contact data for privacy. RDAP still returns the registrar, dates, nameservers, and status.
