About Registration Analytics
How many new domains are registered each day, and which ones?
Registration Analytics follows new domain registrations by day, week, and month. Compare keywords, extensions, name lengths, registrars, and DNS hosts, then open the names behind any trend. Figures come from the daily new-domain lists in Toyroom’s zone data, so a date is the day a name appeared in the zone.
How to use it
- Pick a period: daily, weekly, or monthly. Partial periods are labeled.
- Filter by extension, name length, registrar, registrar group, or DNS host.
- Compare up to three keywords in the workbench, or up to five categories in the trend view.
- Drill into any bar to list its names. Export up to 5,000 rows, or analyze up to 100,000 in Portfolio Summary.

- Coverage
- Registrar and DNS host panels state how many registrations have been looked up, since not every new name has.
- Limits
- Drill exports stop at 5,000 rows. Sending names to Portfolio Summary needs a quick verification.
- Cost
- Free. No account.
Questions
How many domains are registered per day?
It depends on the day and on which extensions you count. Registration Analytics shows the daily total for every extension with a daily feed, and TLD Explorer shows each extension’s past 7 and 30 days.
Is the registration date the same as the RDAP creation date?
No. Registration Analytics dates a name by the day it first appeared in the daily zone data, which can differ from the creation date the registry reports. Use RDAP Lookup for the registry’s date.
What is a registrar group?
Many registrars are owned by one company and hold several ICANN accreditations. Registrar Groups roll those accreditations up by IANA ID and corporate family, so you can compare companies instead of accreditations.
